Stanzas From A Contract Worker.

I want to write a poem
But my poem lacks the voice to speak
It lacks sponsors for its beauty

I want to write a poem
But my poem hovers around the earth
And I lack the tool to hack it down

My poem is a bird of many colours
It is in those tears that drive down the eyes
It is found in the feelings that slap the heart

My poem is a moving truck
Intruding places out of bound
It is in justice which sleeps in the tomb of injustice

My poem is in that creature rendered without agency
It is in that cry seeking for freedom
Both at the altar and before flesh

My poem's voice was quashed
At the sight of the tommy tommy noodles
Carted away from penury

My poem was sexually harassed by the House of RAPEresentatives
It was forcefully asked to come on
For a second round by the House of COM(E) M-ON

My poem is in the eyes of that student mourning for redemption from a lecturer
It is crying at the face of that lecturer mourning for redemption from a government
It is in the maltreatment of the masses by a government

My poem is walking with that Orphan who was served a delicious pain
It is sitting in that Tabernacle of Extortion
It is sitting in the midst of those whose cloths nature gave photograph

My poem dances with dancers of all season
It is homing in homes
And extorting muses

Never forget, it is a bird of many colours
It is in that sacrifice that reverences the creator
It is in that life that strives to be with Him

I still want to write a poem
But I don't know how to write it
Because it stifles the blood of my pen.

A witty reflection on the intricacies of poetry set aside for honest contemplation. An insightful piece, well articulated and nicely brought forth with conviction. Thanks for sharing Kelechi and stay enriched.
