Stay With Me-(2-22-05)

Poem By Kayla Jarnac

Sharp;
Poking, prodding,
layer by layer
beneath my skin;
impressions,
voices,
thoughts,
dreams;
heart,
flesh,
blood,
to the bone,
to the soul,
to the darkest corners of the mind;
I wonder how you can see all of me
with your
razor
sharp
eyes, and your
keen words,
questioning me
and the life I've made,
wondering what I'll think of next,
wondering why I shy away from your tests;
All this from one quick gaze;
I feel you in my brain,
in my head,
but you,
stranger,
shadow,
you can stay.
