Strand Of Hope

Poem By Lancashire Lass Susan

Life is fragile, so easy to go over the edge into the abyss, A fine strand holds us away from a life of nothingness.
An existence meaningless, days of hopelessness, barely putting one foot in front of the other.

Each day colourlessness, a hunger to be loved, to be admired, to be cherished, to be seen of worth, to be loved for who we are.

What is that fine strand? Who is it who stirs us from the nothingness, and slowly fills the emptiness? Who is it that walks in step with us, and holds us up and sometimes carries us?

Who is that Someone who cherishes us and ignites our sense of worth, the One who fans us into flame and colours our world with His light causing despair to flee?

Who is He that rejoices with us in our joy, loves us immeasurably, enabling us to love others in equal measure?

Who is the One that pours favor on the believer and brings His word alive in our hearts cutting through our fears?

He is Him who guides us and protects us, all the days of our lives. The One who hears us knock on the door and is there waiting on the other side willing to invite us in and sup with us.

Who is this special Someone who willingly died for us?

Who is this humble servant? This strand of hope?

His name is the Lord Jesus Christ,

Comments about Strand Of Hope

Although your writing needs development, I love the concept of this piece; I've tweaked the first stanza (below) , as an example of how you may run with this poetic love for Christ. Keep writing and working at the craft of finding your voice. -Joe Breunig Reaching Towards His Unbounded Glory The edge of darkness beckons unto me, from the rim of its jagged abyss; a single strand of Hope keeps me - from a life of complete nothingness!

Without You Lord

WITHOUT You Lord I would be a piece of flotsam tossing on a stormy sea
A train in a hurry gaining momentum to certain disaster
A leaf clinging precariously to it's last bit of sanity
An empty soul hungering for something more

Peace Within

The wind is blowing gaily, the page is trying to turn.
My hair has it's own independent way and my heart is at PEACE.
My peace I give you, not as the world gives it (John 14: 27)
A peace that rests inside as though like Jesus sleeping peacefully on the wind tossed boat, secure in His Father's LOVE. (Mark 4: 38)

A Godly Marriage

Honor to God's divine union of two souls is shown in their love and respect to God and to each other. Worthiness in the wife is recognised by her husband through HER strength of character to submit and commit all circumstances to God in prayer, to seek HIS will.

A woman who recognizes and follows the Holy Spirit's guidance in all she does. Embraces Him as a Friend, Counselor, Comforter, Confidante, Peacemaker, Restorer, Redeemer, HER God of ALL wisdom and might.
