Substantive

Vignettes and oubliettes
With curios stacked upon a buttered shelf
And myself
Strolling amid the raindrops on mournful descent
In a chain-lightning sky
Questioning time
In wonder if it will pass by
Less slowly sometime
Coasting on ephemeral waves of awakening
In dawn that stifles my eyes and mind
I keep walking, yet stumbling oftentimes
Searching for something I’ve lost for once
A languid trio, indeed, that dies not with age
But only passing, despite my pleas
It still rains, but not sideways
As this delirium still rains, reigns.
To conquer now I pray
To succumb later I hope
A sweet sweet slumber I long for
Top good to enjoy or recall
With one tower standing
I shake the hourglass and hope time will quicken
For I can’t say time is well-spent waiting
(Noticing this monster is far from sated
Pause and refresh, take a breath, will you not?)
Raindrops still falling; a cold rain I’d kill for
Such niceties in a world full of subtlety
With inner worlds still waiting discovery
Places like Loh Land, I’d wish to go
Even Monomoshie, I’ll never know
This brazen dream, now begging acquittal
Shattering sanity so brittle
Perhaps a little more respite would be nice
Just to be in ice, in the zoviet days
Life is like a vacuum some days
A spiral turning backwards in many ways
An interesting concept: digging with pens
The searing burns in ivory ground
Words you would only hope are eternal
Can only be lost and never found.

But now it’s back to the nightly grind
With my dull axe and my dull mind.
