Summer Makes It So

Poem By Astral Shepherd

when carousels spin happily
children’s faces shine bright with joy
calliope notes keep the time
and painted horses rise and fall
summer makes it so

see lovers gently holding hands
fingers eagerly entwining
whispers sweet spoken from soft lips
with enamored blushes shining
summer makes it so

cotton candy fluffs up so high
cold lemonade in paper cups
sipping slowly between each sigh
there are no limits on the day
summer makes it so

sunset breezes prepare the night
crickets begin their chirping calls
and street lamps one by one alight
while wending our way on toward home
where did summer go?
