Sunday Morning

Poem By Dava Makiah

Just woke up to see the light in your eyes
not too long ago we use to laugh until we cried
but now the river is a ghost and my soul
sings a song wrapped in memory
my it's gotten cold

i don't want to say good-bye
it's better off this way
we'll just walk through each day
with a simple hello and
a wave of the hand

you and i are like killers
of the emotional kind
you got my heart
for every wrong i've done
you slapped karma against
my thick forhead
and branded me with
solitude in a barren
lullaby

so now i lay me down to sleep
hand full of pills to bring me back
the sunlight that once played
upon your face once lit with
joy now carved with rage
because i'm not your perfect lover
i'm not your best friend
i'm just a man
trying to keep a smile
against a typhoon of tycoons
that compromise this land
for dollar bills and mistresses
oh won't you hold my hand
i'm not your perfect
not your best
i'm just a simple man
without some corporate plan

i don't want to say good-bye
it's better off this way
we'll just walk through each day
with a simple hello
and a wave of the hand

One Man Circus

So I never stopped loving you-not really-only got mad at me for not being able to make that leap of faith to you.
So full of me I can be,
with wires frayed and crossed circuits
you'd think I was a one man three ring circus:

Just Don'T Know

Sad the memories
in a lifelong conundrum
of yearning
I just don't know

Those Closer Things

Fine
OK
Goodbye,
be gone,

My Ears

Well it's so well in here
when your traveling through my ears
imagine your breath kissing my thoughts
don't know so much of anything anymore

What's This All About?

One Wrong
than 2 and 3
Where do I Belong?
Seems anywhere but here.

Once More

not so much
i never want to see your
face
feel your touch
