Her blue dress with her tan skin
One white pearl on her neck
We drive through Iowa
Day swoons like a lovely ribbon
Like a sacred flower
It’s a weekday with no traffic
Going to Colorado
Windows down
Nice to get away from air conditioning

Our first road trip
We start to relax
Harvest by Neil Young plays
She asks, “Can you turn it up? ”
It ends; she wants to talk
“Before my parents divorced
That was their favorite album”
I see tears; it’s late, time for a motel
She asks, will you screw my brains out?
