"Survivor's Dilemma"

I ask the doctor
Voice filled with dread
"How long will it be until i am dead? "
The doctor smiles,
warm like the sun.
"You will live! "
"Your more lucky then some"
The wants to cry,
It was so strong.
I know he won't understand,
So i don't tell the doctor.
That the words he just spoke,
Were worse than any death sentence.
I should be grateful,
I should be filled with joy!
So then why do i Feel so void?
