Sweet Baby Jesus

Sweet Baby Jesus

Born in the manger
Not knowing you would face
A destiny that would save the world
And give them needed grace
You taught so well the scholars and priest
In the temple, to the multitudes at the last feast
With outstretched hands you saved us all
Knowing the world around you would fall
What is it about you Lord
What is it people need
Is it the unseen faith you provide
The gentle warnings that you heed
You gave your life
So we could have eternal time
With you and all the angels
In heaven’s sweet sublime
Streets of gold and walls of jasper
Are a few of the things Lord that I am after
And my dreams of the here after
Were made possible by a baby in a manger
Sweet baby Jesus that’s who you are,
Lord, I'm here to follow you, here or afar.
