Tall

Your taller then your father was
But that doesn't count for cash
Because he was a drunk who hit your mother.
And told you that you where trash
The music try's to drown you out
As you scream in your room
But as long as you follow your fathers rules
It doesn't mater what you do
Who you are and what you want to be.
Does not matter
Because you're just to young and naive
And always will be
But keep your hopes alive
Even when you find
Your crackwhore mother bloody beaten
Dead on the floor
Ask yourself how tall are you today?
Not tall enough to matter anyway
How tall are you today?
Not tall enough all that matters is what they say
How tall are you today not tall enough
For the games they play
Your taller then your mother was
But you hardly ever got to test
'cause she was on the floor tripping out
Or in a bloody mess
The music try's to drown you out
As you scream in your room
But as long as you follow your mother rules
It doesn't mater what you do
Ask yourself how tall are you today?
Not tall enough to matter anyway
How tall are you today?
Not tall enough all that matters is what they say
How tall are you today not tall enough
For the games they play
Please keep your hopes alive
Even when you're when you find
Your daddy locked away behind that prison door.
I know how tall you are today
A little more then yesterday
I know how tall you are today
A little more then what they say
I know how tall you are today
Just tall enough to beat them at the games they play

Nicely written.... As you get older you get 'taller'... and as you get 'taller' you begin too see what lies beyond the horizon and begin to explore other ways overcome Peace Soul
