Tear Drop

Poem By Thistle Wargul

A salty dropp swells up
With sorrow from a glistening eye.
It slides down slowly off the nose,
Leaving a shiny wet trail behind.

In that moment,
In mid air,
It hovers beautiful in sadness.
Light refracting
The colours of the rainbow
Swirling in it's midst.

The reflection of a swolen face,
Distorts in it's silky surface
As the salty dropp of desolation
Breaks upon the floor.

There it remains
Shattered from it's beauty,
A damp patch in the dry.

The swollen face gulps without grace.
Please don't cry!

A dark grey cloud
Floating in the blue sky.
Releases a fragment of rain
Onto the sandy ground.

In that moment,
In mid air,
It hovers beautiful in sadness.
Light refracting
The colours of the rainbow
Swirling in it's midst.

The image of a silent form,
Ripples on its smooth skin
As the pure blessed drop
Breaks upon the sand.

There it stayed
Shattered from it's beauty,
A dark patch in the light.

The sky joins in and cries!

nice write, enjoyed the read, tears always a good subject for a poem smiffy
10...! You are a very good writer. Did I read you are 15? If you are, you are on your way to being an author of a book...! Keep writing...I think I will add this to my favorites because I have cried many tears over the years. I look forward to the time, right here on earth, when we will cry happy tears, not sad ones. Thank you.
