Tell The Truth

Poem By Kitty Marie Lucas

you tell a story
of a strange girl
who wove her glory
in a false world
in this land
you are the king
plucking off
my frozen wings

push her down
she's like before
heartbroken
to love nevermore
all honor
does abandon you
someday you will
tell the truth

stand at the gallows
she gets no trial
from those shallow and
a man's denial
the whore
weeps bitterly
strung up
for all to see

...

kill me with your words
care not of my intent
you wear away my worth
i scream in my defense
...

push her down
she's like before
heartbroken
to love nevermore
all honor
does abandon you
someday you will
tell the truth
