Ten Irish Sons

It saddens me when I think back
To the year of '81,
As Ireland wept and a nation mourned
To the loss of 10 brave sons.

Mothers wept at the graveside
As they said their last goodbyes,
As Britain turned its back on life,
And left Ireland's sons to die.

On the streets of Belfast and Derry,
The mourners stood and they prayed,
For the H-Blocks killed ten Irish sons
And Britain one day, will pay.

We shall continue to honour the martyrs,
Their memories will linger on,
Our hearts will carry the courage to fight,
For Ireland's ten brave sons.
