That First Twinkle

To be a father, a matter of pride,
Infinite happiness that makes me glide.
Far into the dream, do i ride,
The father in me, was born when she came alive,
Her hands were small, fingers little,
her glance said it all, my heart played a fiddle.

An angel was she in my rather dull life,
and also a darling to my wonderful wife.
I looked in wonder, did not know how to act,
When she first glanced at me with a twinkle in her eye.

I held her fingers, and she did clench,
my eyes did tear, my dress was drenched,
I gently bowed down to her and laid a kiss,
on her forehead and i was in bliss.

She is my daughter, an angel of my life,
God gave her to me along with my beautiful wife.
the angel who added a twinkle to my life.
