The Artist

Some might call me an artist
Though I don't paint quite like them
They paint pictures and designs
I paint verses with my pen

Artist have their studios
With their canvas and nice tools
But my canvas is just paper
And my art has no rules

I do not have a palette
To make shades of many kinds
The colors I am using
Are the colors of my mind

I don't need a winter scene
Or a sunset shining bright
The earth need not inspire me
My inspiration is life

Some might call me an artist
I don't know if this is art
But I do know it's the truth
And it's coming from my heart

You can call it what you want
But for me it's a release
So give me pen and paper
And I'll paint my masterpiece.
