The Ballad Of Ethan
Poem By Derek Wong
The night air is calm and quiet,
Making past memories vivid and strong,
The crushing loneliness offers no exit,
And dawn shall wait far too long.
Open windows offer midnight cold,
The empty spot on the cold bed,
Life will not age with youth but old,
Hard times are left unsaid.
Warming a body with sheets that are cold,
Never forgetting the euphoric charms,
Love worth more than infinite gold,
Wishing sleep once with warm arms.
