One Heart Apart

Poem By Carolyn Brunelle

The Beauty of the world
Chides me
And reminds me
Aging and death
Are not everything

There is still light
There is still morning
One need not give up entirely
There is Beauty still
There is youth and hope
For the new generations
There is still the Beauty
The eyes see and the ears hear
There is morning still
Life is not over yet
There is still Love and Hope
In the world.

All I Wanted Was Poems

I didn’t want other kinds of words
I wanted poems
Because they helped me feel more alive
They gave me an intensity

There Are So Many Poets

There are so many poets
Many have won prizes

Nothing Tells Me How To Begin Again

Nothing tells me how to begin again
Or even how to try
I am too old now
And how can I expect to do at the age of seventy- five?

I Must Continue To Write

There will always be another poem
And with that poem- hope
However absurd-
So even if I despair
