Lion - Springs

Poem By Gajanan Mishra

There were the shimmering of jewels
and the fighting of duels
for high and mighty stakes.
There were ponies prancing
and dwarfs dancing
with quick little shimmy shakes.

There was a prince who delved into the mystic,
and a young actress, idealistic,
who had a grand personality.
There was a butterfly from her cocoon
who came to dance with the man in the moon
until the dawn of reality.

There was a rich young Indian Chief
who drank champagne to drown his grief
What a pity and a shame!
There were enterprising doctors and lawyers,
many thieves and weak-kneed warriors
looking for some easy game
