The British Should See Themselves As Lucky

The British should see themselves as lucky
Having done most of their dirty deeds on the sly
When there were no journalists with cameras
And no one to record or ask why
They alone wrote the pack of lies
About great exploits and civilizing savages
The history that reason defies
Taught in schools for decades as fact
Time has moved on, we now understand
What really happened and history's many hues
But no one should expect an apology, for such a demand
Is outside the narrow confines of British comprehension.
