The Call Of The Hills

Poem By Robert Hensley

I left my home in old Caroline.
My friends and that sweetheart of mine.
But something seems to call me back.
To big brown eyes and that old shack.
The call of the hills whisper and say.
Come back, come back, come back today.
You’ve been away, away too long.
Come back, come back where you belong.
Remember when I went away.
I said I would return someday.
She said for me she would wait.
I’ll go back before it’s too late.

The Lonely Pine Tree

Pine tree why are you so lonely?
Why aren’t you like other trees?
IT seems like your tiny pine needles.
Are always blowing in the breeze.
