The Child In Me

Everytime i laugh,
it's her childish laugh
everytime i sing,
it's her childish song
everytime i cry,
it's her tears of fear
and everytime i see your face
her life slowly slips away

don't let her leave me now
the less you're here
the less she fades
but the more i cry
save the child in me
let me see her smile
don't let her fade away
she means too damn much

She brightens my day,
like the beauty in a sunflower
she keeps me whole,
knows my every thought
she loves me tender
her unconditional love is there
and though she's young,
she's knows the truth's

don't let her leave me now
the less you're here
the less she fades
but the more i cry
save the child in me
let me see her smile
don't let her fade away
she means too damn much

i've been pulled and pushed
forced and tried
to let the childlike innocence i possess
fade into night
I've kept her in my mind
she's my sanctuary

don't let her leave me now
the less you're here
the less she fades
but the more i cry
save the child in me
let me see her smile
don't let her fade away
she means too damn much
