The Deadly Hurricane

On August 29,2005
A deadly hurricane came
It killed too many people
It’s called Hurricane Katrina by name

Katrina hit many cities
But mainly affected one
New Orleans was flooded to the top
All hope was down to none

Water was seen everywhere
Kids and parents crying
Staying in the Superdome
Sad because of loved ones dying

The streets were completely flooded
Chemicals in the water
Everyone only thinking
How could this happen to America’s daughter

There were stray animals everywhere
People yelling for help
Feeling so deserted
When no one heard them yelp

Volunteers kept on coming
All trying really hard
The hurt ones feeling so deserted
Because they let down their guard

Now everything is better
Except for all the lost ones
Louisiana is forever changed
The city no longer hums
