The Death Of My Love
Today I finally dug a hole in the ground
by Alexandra Isnard
It took me much courage
but inside me was a feeling so profound
I was convinced it was to my advantage.
For so long I have given my love freely
to the one man I met eighteen years back
All of my heart belonged to him only
and his name there was written on a golden plaque.
Life together was not always rosy
many a time it was more of a battlefield
and time changed us both enormously
what we carry today is just a defensive sheild.
You used to see in me nothing more but wonders
now plagued severely with so much flaws
I wish you would stop and ponder
on whether the hole is for a good cause
for today my love for you died.
