The Depths Of Death

Poem By timothy smith

Confined in a wooden box

Submerged six feet underground

The lifeless body of a human

After death has made his round.

Dressed to impress the world

Yet stiff as a board

Some have left their body

To live with the LORD

Others suffer in burning fire

An eternity, with is not desired

Of all the questions you can ask

The answer lies within your past

Because once the human heart

Takes its final beat

Your bodies destination

Is a shallow six feet.

Hmm... not the most uplifting of poems, but profound all the same.
