The Desert Sailor

Poem By Chris Mann

A desert sailor feels the water
I feel the pain where I belong
For what is real is hidden down
Below a depth of life forlorn

For what is real I cannot find
To be or not to be is but
A question with but one true lie
That all must do what cannot die

I cannot hide that which is true
To shed a coil is but a sin
To eyes of those who question none
For eyes I see but dive not in

My love, I feel but two made hands
A hand with ice, to cruelly watch
A hand of ash to calmly touch
But none is real and life is such
