I Walk Alone
I walk alone broken, unseen,
by Michael Olajubu
Batty emotions bash and cudgel my brain,
Fury within has no kin, though keen
That it makes my eyes water
To dare fate, lone like the moon
In dark island sunshine is taken for slaughter.
Of all the stars in my clan,
I, on dicky diet, clash for notice
Wearing wack reflexion like a man
Under sedation, under seduction
Of awkward silence; suffused with embalmer
Like one dead with pulses that won't function.
Cocoon me now, O death,
I am enmeshed in ablation, expiring
And left to walk alone; have my breath.
