Poem By Edythe V. Piccione
An emu; what the hell is that?
A feather in a ladies hat?
Elixir you're afraid to drink
For fear your you-know-what will shrink?
A dowager with no remorse
Who puts astringent on a horse?
A tapestry depicting spring?
An emu could be anything!
A hunchback sweeping with a broom?
A temple bell predicting doom.
A filament that sheds a light?
A saxophone that wails at night.
I looked it up. Well, how absurd!
An emu's nothing but a Bird!
