The Epitaph

“This is the woman
With whom life flourished
She was that woman
Without whom life perished”

She was a mother of four
Her slogan was love
It was scribbled on her door
And a symbol on her room floor

She swaddled us past the river in flooding
And always put us into laughing
She gave us enough we never went famine
She gave us a better living

Her demise was regrettable
Her transition was inconsolable
Her words are unforgettable
And her love was unquenchable.
