The Fight

mourning
over a lost
friend
is like
taking
a punch to
the
gut
there is
the shortness
of breath
gasping for air
incredible pain
and
it knocks you
down
making you
more vulnerable
than ever
and when you
think you can pick
yourself back
up
you stand
and as you do
another hit
lands
digging itself
in
making your
body home
to a pain worse
than
twenty thousand
dentist appointments
a pain worse
than
swimming
with jelly fish
in summer's tide
