The Fire

Poem By ashley megan

black ash covers the floor
the walls, they are no more
smoke rises in the air
no clues a house was there

sirens wail, hoses spray
while on the ground, i lay
oh, why didn't i see
blinded by what could be

but little did i know
the fire, planned out so
the house, conniving, cruel
simply made me a fool

but a new house will come
to take place and then some
built with sturdier walls
larger, and with less faults

the flames, consuming all
showed natures unknown call
for when one thing leaves
all your pain relieves

a tree falls in the forest
did you hear him scream?
all his evil deeds squashed,
the reality of my dream.
