The Great Plain
Inconceivable time ago
by Junyup Kim
When the sky first opened,
Could there be any rooster crowing here.
When all the mountains
Rushed toward, yearning oceans,
Could there be any heartless creeping here.
After seasons flourished and perished
Busily over endless suns and moons,
The vast river finally found a way through here.
While it is snowing around
The sole redolence of Japanese apricots,
I scatter poor seeds of songs over here.
Again through an eternity, there should
Be a superhuman riding on a white courser.
Surely I will let him sing out loud here.
