The Hampden Roar

Amazed, the young fan looks
Upon the waving sea of banners
Fluttering in the wind
Stands still in wonder
As the rumbling din
Assaults the senses
A hundred thousand voices rend the air

Here in this historic bowl
Where millions have stood before
Fly the flags of blue and white
Of gold and rampant red
The sun shines bright
On the grassy sward
Where many battles have been played

Not long to go
One last try
Someone knocks it to the King
His trademark swivel beats his man
And the ball goes flying in
The young lad waves his scarf on high
His first match and his first win
