God's Own

Flying by night into the day
The wings I ride are made of clay
Soaring so high as only I dare
The Sun in my eyes with hardly a glare
Below the heavens, amidst the confusion
We all live knowing the illusion
Together we fly alone in thought
Our hearts combined by the love we sought
The harder I look, the lower I fly
Weighed down by the burdens of the sky
The stars twinkle with brilliant light
By speaking my truth, I own the night.
