The Homeless Man

Poem By Joseph T. Renaldi

Bearded man, sitting there,
In the alley midst garbage fare,
Bloodshot eyes you stare at me.
Are you inebriated - or could it be
Hopelessness put you in this place,
All alone this world to face?

Soon the sun will fade from sight,
And the day will turn to night,
You've no home or food to eat.
Come, I'll take you to a shelter to meet
Homeless people who need tender care.
Perhaps - that's why Providence put me here.
To help those in need.
