The Ignominious Phenology

Poem By Jupiter Salt

Who is that?
No fond feelings.
Divert to action:
milking nectaries.
Watch the bamboo
sway in the Stillness;
a hazy memento
from a hazy drift
to a place I was not,
but am sure was hazy.
Push a finger
into the flower,
test the temperature
of the nectar.
Push out the door
egress to subtle blindness.
Morose pomp curls
down from the lips;
flickering flames rise
to meet cloy blazes:
a sublimating herald
for a pantheon of poisons
that dizzily drowns
around in the flower
