The Jilted One
When one chooses a direction to follow,
by Lawrence S. Pertillar
At the advice of false friends...
Whose recommendations are taken,
Over the disapproval of a lover or mate...
With a known devotion shown,
Through thick and thin.
And becomes heartbroken by what has happened.
Then it is not guilt the jilted one should feel.
Not at all.
Relief after a short visit with grief that is released,
Will be that feeling felt to believe and accept...
Once one acknowledges deception eventually fails.
With no need to seek or involve revenge.
Since payback is always delivered without requests!
