The Last Machines

Poem By Brian Routh

Strangled in my youth
gulped shut
silent nerves shaking

don't try to tell them
leave them be
to be
in consequence
the last machines

running naked
breaking bottles
sirens blazing
guns popping

live and learn
die and forget
