The Last Salute

You are our friend even though death stepped in
We shared with one another like no other
You shall forever stay in our hearts
Though we are heavenly apart
When God called your number, you were ever so humble
When we called your phone you rushed to our home
Be it night or day nothing blocked your way
We understand God's will sometimes bring us tears
Your works on earth has been done
Heaven's work has just begun
We try to keep our mind on track,
need we remind you we can't relax
The pain was so great it kept you up late
Early morning hours we heard you moan
Praise God
You just carried on
We thank you God for the relief
To this day we still suffer grief
We know you are in heaven sitting on a cloud
Smiles from you, make us so proud
