Lying here in deep pain tonight
by Michael P. McParland
escaping into my music in search of
forgetful hope and dreams.
More and more though I just think of you,
the songs only make me miss you more.
They're filled with memories and
images of your divinity and all the hopes inside.
Aching brutally in my heart to the core,
a faded night it's color drained for you're not here.
No relief for there's no way to shout out and reach
to my only one who I hold so truly dear.
So I lie here aching, longing, needing you.
I can't sleep I don't know what to do.
So on this faded night I'll survive on my music
and a prayer for you,
to feel me call out saying I love with all I am,
you are still the greatest girl on Gods earth.
