The Little Voice

In the silence of the mid day
When lethargic bones bask in the sun of vacuity
I hear a voice, a young voice
That punctures the vacuum of silence
And I, from the window of my room
I listened.
The wording were not straight
And the song untuned but strangely
I listened.
Neither the lyrics nor the tune clenched my attention
But the purpose and desire in her voice

Although she sang as she played
And never minded what others would say
Her young innocent voice strayed
And glided into my head like a zephyr
Separating me from the conscious
I felt free in the untuned notes of her song
And for a moment i felt life through the skin of the child.
