I wear a mask.
A mask fashioned of meaningless words.
At times people regard this mask.
They find it amusing or entertaining,
For at least a moment anyway.
Beneath this mask is a face entirely different.
The face that is formed from words of truth,
Words of meaning.
It is not that I fear to take off the mask.
For it is not a hideous face that lies beneath.
It is simply that none have the desire
To see the face that rests behind the mask.
Oh how I dream of the day
That one will find it upon themselves
To have enough interest,
To remove this mask.
And see the face that lies beneath.
For on that day
I shall toss away this disguise.
And never again shall I wear
A mask of any kind.
