The Merry Bud

Though it had been barren,
Yet thorns of mercy grew,
Filled the cracked petals with tears,
The buds that were to bloom,
The sepals that had protected,
The cruelty that was kept,
Civilized was the theory of life,
In times of hypertension all were lifted;
And one day the desert of life,
Straightly the merry bud,
That wept the whole night,
Of a folly uncommitted,
Of a wrong undone,
Went deep down in the core.
