Hello dear moon
by Abiodun Adekoya
Aged long on a fertile soil
Like seat of a fig tree.
Send me your content
That wield children firmly to grandma tales
And stick adults to gourds of palm wine.
Yesterday you are absence
I kept you pounded yam and vegetable bush meat
But you didn’t come home to eat them.
See my hands today
I brought you head of grasscutter and deer horn
So that you can drink with my fathers.
Stop blinking your eyes my dear friend
Rain cannot make us go inside like yesterday
We still have lots to talk about.
