The Most Beautiful Thing

Poem By James Royster

I've seen a flower whose petals refuse to fall.
I've seen a woman who looks like a beautiful queen doll.

I've seen the majestic eagle soar across the sky.
I've seen someone out of laughter begin to cry.

I've seen a woman give birth to a child.
I've seen a dog roam free and wild.

I've seen the human form completely bare.
I've looked into the depths of an infants stare.

I've seen Michael Vick make 4 people miss.
I've seen a couple in love passionately kiss.

All these things are beautiful this is true,
but the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
is...YOU! ! !

A Different Perspective

I see intelligence, knowledge and wisdom beyond his age.
Society sees anger, hatred, and eyes filled with rage.

I see someone who is full of success.

God's Masterpiece

I tried to write about you, but the words
weren't special enough.

I tried to sing about you, but the notes

I have fought my battles and overcame them all,
But the current task is not something small.

It encompasses all of me.

How can I smile when 2/3 of me have been
oppressed? Yet I am told to just hold my head
up and do my best.

I have no reason to smile, no reason to cry.
No reason to live, no reason to die.

I have no reason to laugh, no reason to pout
