The Mother's Last Sigh

Fireflies flicker
On a quiet night
Signalling to life-weary passengers
Pockets of paradise
Tokens of the past
Forebodings for the future
A sun that has forgotton
How to rise

There are tears in this poem though they are not cried aloud. Lovely penning. Warmest regards, Sandra
