The Need Of Love

Poem By Dilantha Gunawardana

What rests pinnacle to man
Which cannot be ignored, neither abandoned
What rests conscious and unoblivious
The water hole to the soul
Staple to the essence of longing

Of what the eyes cannot uncover
But the soul sees in clairvoyance

The last one
That your slender fingers held
As you surrendered
