~the Orphaned Child~

Poem By Sita Madu Wynn

Bowed head,
She walked on.
From street to street,
Searching for scraps to eat.
Silently,
She walked on,
Rat-holed sandals,
Exposing her feet,
Heading for the shank,
Where she was born,
Her shelter from the storm.
She talked to no one,
Walked with no one,
Had no one to hold
On to till the end.
‘Cept for a little puppy,
She found one day,
Who never went away,
Nuzzling her hand,
Trying to make her understand,
How much, she was loved and adored,
Wordlessly.
She was as They put it,
The Orphaned Child.
