The Poem

You asked me once to write you a poem.
I said I would, but I never did.
You never did become the subject of my writing.
I could’ve never written about you, until now.
Because you couldn’t have been part of my poems.
You WERE one of my poems.
The beauty in which I have the hardest time expressing.
You were the fire that ignites in my body whenever you looked at me.
You were the light that shines the brightest when you flash your smile at me.
You were the life I always hoped to capture in my words.
You also had the darkness in you I always wanted to free.
You ARE the poem I always hoped I could write.
The fire, the light, the life, the darkness all in one.
You are the greatest desire, the biggest wish I could’ve ever hoped for.
Not even the greatest writer could write just exactly how he felt for the love of his life.
No words would ever suffice.

No body, not even the greatest of poets, could have written justifiably under the circumstances. Thanks for this amazing poem. I quote: .....You were the life I always hoped to capture in my words. .....The fire, the light, the life, the darkness all in one. .....No words would ever suffice.
A heart touching poem... the emotions of a lover is well expressed
