The 'Poem A Day' Project-Day 97

Poem By Flying Lemming

Some gave their lives, others had them taken
Dead laying in land still forsaken
They fought on bravely for a noble cause
Until shrapnel gave them eternal pause
Shells and bullets and tanks and bombs
Pain and suffering just never belongs
For those that fought to keep us free
To bring an end to tyranny
Who put our lives before their own
And doing so never came home
Much against war and hate and violence
Can be said in a two minutes silence
