Poem By Marly Little
She carries herself on a pedestal
Because that’s where someone once placed her.
She strives to be the best at everything
but falls short of what she’s not.
Emotions take over her body
In ways they never have before.
She starts a new pattern of thinking
One that’s destructive to herself.
To make others believe she’s ok
She pops pills of happiness.
Always moving, she can’t stay still.
The pressure is beginning to be too much
But she can’t quit now- she’s come to far.
All the eyes watching, waiting for her to fall,
Her life crumbling before her eyes.
Hopes collide with fears, reality with fantasy
Then she’s gone- never to return.
Her life taken by an overdose of failure...
